Empower Your Soul

What Pendulums & Dowsing Rods Aren't Telling You

Medium Nicole Season 1 Episode 75

Pendulums and dowsing rods are fascinating metaphysical tools that seem to provide answers from spirit, but their true power lies in reflecting our own subconscious. Though initially awe-inspiring for beginners, these accessible tools present challenges when we expect perfect accuracy from them rather than recognizing they primarily amplify our own intuition and biases.

• Easy-to-use spiritual tools that respond to our energy
• Work through our own intuition and subconscious rather than external divine sources
• Should be used to validate intuitive feelings rather than make decisions
• Not 100% accurate as they reflect our biases and expectations
• Problematic when spiritual influencers present them as direct channels to divine beings
• Valuable when understood as tools that help us connect with our inner knowing
• Reminder that we're here to exercise free will and make our own choices

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to empower your soul. I thought I would do this really mini episode today just to talk about pendulums and dowsing rods, and for those of you that are unaware what these tools are, they're super accessible. I'm going to say more beginner oriented tools, and when I say beginner oriented, it's just because they're easy to use, right, and I still use them to this day. So don't think of this as it's for amateurs, because it really is for everybody. But to the point where these tools are so cool that you can literally go on YouTube and Google how to use dousing rods, how to use pendulums, in a mere matter of minutes and have it kind of answering questions for you. Now these are really cool and I think they're really fun and interactive on your spiritual journey. It is a really cool, like eye opening, amazing physical way to see answers from spirit, seemingly spirit. We're going to get into that in a minute. But for those of you that don't know, pendulums are essentially, you know, gorgeously pointed shaped crystals on the end of a metal chain. You can also just use a necklace with a big pendant on it. You can use that as well as a pendulum. And then dowsing rods are those L-shaped metal rods that are traditionally used by farmers to find water underground, and they work because we are what? 70 plus percent water, probably more than that and we are electrical, so the dowsing rods work with our energy as well. So what's really cool about both of these is that you can use them to essentially answer very simple yes, no, maybe I don't know questions with them, and you can program them to move a certain way, whether the answer is yes, whether the answer is no. And I was completely floored by this in my beginning of the spiritual journey. Just because you have this literal tool that's hanging on the end of your fingers or you're holding them in your hands and it's literally moving to your thoughts, because you can ask both the pendulum and the dowsing rods like I'm just going to keep them as one because it acts very similarly but you can, like a hold a pendulum and ask where the window is right, show me the door, and it will point to that direction. It'll, you know, and it's just so cool because it's just like you've never seen something do this before and you are freaking in awe of this, and I know I personally was in awe of this. So when I started my journey, I worked a lot with the pendulum dowsing rods I bought later. I'm not going to get into that, but pendulum I worked with pretty much from day one of my spiritual journey and it was just a really cool way to ask yes, no questions, validate what I'm thinking, ask for direction and guidance, etc.

Speaker 1:

Now, where these tools will get you into trouble is that they will give you answers, is that they will give you answers, but it's not necessarily the most accurate of answers. So when I first started using my pendulum, I would you know, I'm a, I'm an experimenter, I want to see what the bounds of everything is. So I would start asking it questions like are the Boston Bruins hockey team, are they going to win the game tonight? And then, like 20 minutes later they would lose the game and I'm like, huh, but my pendulum told me they were going to win, right. I would ask it questions about predictions about the future. That would either, you know, sometimes come true, sometimes not come true.

Speaker 1:

So I very quickly learned that the accuracy of these devices, these pendulums and theseowsing rods, are not necessarily 100% accurate and for me that's frustrating as hell, like if I'm going to freaking, use a tool and put my energy into it. I want it to be accurate. So I got to be totally honest with you. It took me a very long time to figure out what the heck is going on. So I would continue to play with my pendulum, but I tended to use it just like I would any other metaphysical tool. I'm going to use it with a grain of salt, I'm going to use it as input, but I'm still going to make my own decision based on my own energy and how I feel about a situation. I'm not going to make a pendulum. Have a pendulum or dousing rod make the decisions for me, right? But it was input.

Speaker 1:

So after a while, I eventually eventually figured out that the problem with these metaphysical tools is that they work pretty much exclusively with your intuition and your subconscious. So when I'm asking the pendulum, show me the window, I know where the window is, and so it's going to swing that way, right? I? If I'm asking it to say, are the Boston Bruins going to win? And I really want them to win it's going to say yes, and that's the flaw with these metaphysical tools is that it works on your expectations and so your biases are 100% in these tools, and I know that there are a rare few of you that are probably listening that can use these tools in a very unbiased way for you. I'm jealous because I can't use it that way.

Speaker 1:

I have tried to call in my angels, my guides. I have tried to remove and clear energy and my biases, but it just doesn't work for me. So instead I like to use these tools more so to amplify and validate my intuition, and that's how I would recommend all of you use these tools as well. It is just a way to validate what you think you let me say it again what you think you know the answer is right. So if you're not sure, it's a really good way for internally to say what do I want the answer to be or where do I want this to go. It doesn't mean that you need to make decisions off that right. It doesn't mean that that's the definite answer or the accurate outcome of the situation, but it just gives you a gut feel.

Speaker 1:

For how am I feeling on the inside about this? And for a lot of us that don't know our intuition, have trouble reading our intuition, these are great, freaking tools for you to be like. I think I'm upset about this. I know that sounds really dumb, but I think I'm upset about this. Hey, pendulum, am I upset about this? And they'll tell you yes or no, right, and? And so again, like that's my qualms I have with all of these online people who use these tools as like giving information to people on, like TikTok lives on YouTube, right? The one I have the biggest qualms with and I'm bringing the beef, everybody, I'm bringing the beef is the lady that has the dousing rods and she's asking questions to Jesus and she's getting these answers and her social media has blown up because of this and people are taking this information as complete, accurate channeling from Jesus. And you know what, who knows, maybe it is.

Speaker 1:

I don't think that at all, right, I think the whole thing is just malarkey. I just I don't trust it. I think that she's reading her own energy and her own expectations of what the answers are and she's putting it out there on the interwebs for everyone to see and kind of buy into, which I think is fine, but she doesn't come with any disclaimers about. This is not necessarily accurate. This is my interpretation, or my energetic interpretation, of the answers and again, there's just so much freaking miscommunication about this metaphysical work out there on social media. So you always have to question it and I always always challenge it, always take it with a grain of salt and figure out what, what's the best, most integrated information for you, and that's how I want you to think about this. So I hope that helps.

Speaker 1:

In terms of the pendulums and the dowsing rods, continue to use them, but use them in a way that you know that this is your subconscious energy giving the answers, and it's not necessarily the accurate, truthful answers, and I think that is a nod to why we get involved in this metaphysical work anyway, and I know that we all want us and clients come to me wanting it too we all want spirit to give the answers to us. What is the easiest path through life? Please tell me, am I supposed to take this job, yes or no? But it doesn't work that way, everybody. It doesn't work that way because we are here in the physical world and we have to go through the trials and tribulations and we have to make the decisions in this life so that we can control our own destiny, accomplish our own soul's lessons and walk the path that we are supposed to walk, and it's not supposed to be easy all the time?

Speaker 1:

So if you take away free will, why are we even here? So if you take away free will, why are we even here? Why are we even here? So use those tools as literal tools to provide input, but you are ultimate responsible for making the decisions. And if you follow a pendulum to make the decisions, lord help you. I said it All right, that's all I had for today. Happy pendulum testing. How happy. Dousing dousing rod moving I don't even know what to call that, but I hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care.
